Mysticism

Perhaps my favorite definition of mysticism is something G. K. Chesterton wrote in, “Orthodoxy”, “There is a difference between getting heaven into your head and your head into heaven.”

No one, including myself, can argue for a single definition of mysticism as it is a subject, like us and our creator, which is infinite and not total.  What Chesterton wrote in “Orthodoxy” harmonizes with the idea that mysticism is an infinite which we cannot hope to cram into anyone’s head.  Rather, mysticism is something with which we surround ourselves.
